The NFC Util
Effective and last updated: September 16, 2026

The NFC Util (the “App”) is provided by Nathan Burton (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

Summary: The App does not require an account. We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell personal information. NFC content and saved NFC designs are processed and stored locally on your device unless you choose to use that content with another service.

Information We Collect

We do not collect or receive personal information, NFC tag contents, Wi-Fi credentials, saved NFC designs, payment-card details, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers through the App. The App does not transmit scanned NFC content or saved NFC designs to servers operated by us.

Information Stored on Your Device

The App may locally store NFC designs you save; text, URLs, payment links, Wi-Fi configuration records, or other content in those designs; the number of free NFC reads used; onboarding status; and app preferences. This information remains in the App’s private storage.

You can delete saved designs inside the App. Deleting the App normally removes its local data, subject to your device backups and Apple services. NFC tags can be read by compatible devices, so do not place confidential information on a tag others may access.

NFC Reading and Writing

The App accesses a tag only after you initiate a read or write operation. Tag content is processed on your device to display it, save a design at your request, write a compatible tag, or perform an action you select. Third-party links and services have their own privacy policies and terms.

Wi-Fi Configuration

If you scan a compatible Wi-Fi NFC record and choose to join the network, the App provides the network name, security type, and credentials to Apple’s system Wi-Fi configuration service. The App does not transmit those credentials to us. Credentials may remain locally if you choose to save that NFC design.

Payment Links

The App can create or read NFC tags containing links to third-party payment services. The App does not process payments or collect payment-card or bank-account information. A third-party service’s policy and terms apply when you use its link.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Apple processes App Store subscriptions, billing, payment credentials, free-trial eligibility, purchase history, renewals, and cancellations. The App receives limited entitlement information from Apple to determine whether paid features are active. We do not receive your full payment-card information.

Tracking, Advertising, Analytics, and Sharing

The App does not track you across apps or websites, display third-party advertising, use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, create advertising profiles, or sell or rent personal information. Because we do not collect information from the App, we do not share App user information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.

Data Retention and Deletion

We do not retain NFC content, Wi-Fi credentials, saved designs, or other App content on developer-operated servers. Local designs remain until you delete them or remove the App. Copies may remain in device or iCloud backups according to your Apple settings and Apple’s practices. The App has no developer-hosted user accounts.

Security

The App relies on iOS app sandboxing and Apple platform security to protect local information. No electronic storage is completely secure. Protect access to your device and avoid placing sensitive information on publicly accessible NFC tags.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Users

The App does not send its NFC content to servers operated by us. Apple and any third-party service you choose may process information in other countries under their own policies and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App’s features, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will revise the date above when changes are published.
